Volvo is going electric, making sustainability the central platform of our business—and we’ll begin in 2023. By 2030, all Volvo cars will be pure electric. By 2040, we’ll be 100 percent carbon neutral.
According to a recent announcement, all 2023 Volvo cars in the U.S. will be fully electric, hybrid or mild hybrid. And they’ll all be totally connected with Google built-in.
Pure Electric, Hybrid or Mild Electric
With the XC90 and XC40 SUVs, as well as the V60 Cross Country, going mild hybrid, U.S. customers can now find an electrified Volvo car to fit their daily routines, regardless of lifestyle or access to charging stations.
Mild hybrids don’t need to be plugged in so they offer increased efficiency over their predecessors. New extended range plug-in hybrids combine all-electric driving with traditional gasoline-powered engines.
If you want to go pure electric, you can hop into the driver’s seat of the 402 horsepower, battery electric XC40 Recharge small luxury SUV and C40 Recharge luxury crossover offer zero tailpipe emissions.
Totally Connected
Google built-in is already standard on the full-electric C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge, the XC60, S90, and V90 Cross Country. It will be available with all Volvo cars from 2023. Volvo owners can transition seamlessly between their digital life at home, at work and their cars, receiving personalized information where they may be. Offering Google Assistant for voice control, Google Maps and the Google Play store for additional apps as standard in all vehicles, Volvo is committing fully to delivering an unparalleled digital experience.
And because all new 2023 Volvo cars will be capable of receiving and installing software upgrades remotely, they will deliver a continuously improving digital experience over their lifetime.
Style, as well as Substance
Styling updates are in the works for the new model year as well. Updates include new colors, wheels, and interior options. Leather-free materials are also available.
The S60, V60 and V60 Cross Country feature refreshed styling with a new front grille design and updated rear bumper inserts. Customers can also combine the exterior design, interior upholstery, and equipment level of their choice to their liking.
