The IIHS tests evaluate two aspects of safety: crashworthiness—or how well a vehicle protects its occupants in a crash—and crash avoidance and mitigation—or how well a vehicle’s technology can prevent a crash or lessen its severity.
To receive a TSP+ rating, vehicles must score “Good" in all six IIHS crash-test categories—including the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. The Volvo C40 Recharge delivered in all categories.
