Money.com recently reviewed hundreds of hybrid, gas, and electric cars, trucks, and SUVs from almost every auto manufacturer to create their Best Autos of 2023 list. Those making the list were chosen not only by quality, but by value. Two Volvo models beat out all others to be named “Best” in their individual categories.
The 2023 Volvo S60 Recharge sedan was named the Best Plug-in Hybrid Car of 2023 for Safety. The Volvo XC60 compact SUV was chosen as the Best Luxury Crossover SUV of 2023 for Features.
While the S60 being recognized for safety is an honor, it’s not surprising given Volvo’s reputation for being among the safest cars in the world. The S60 was chosen based on NHTSA crash test ratings as well as additional safety features. It comes equipped with Volvo’s sophisticated Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) sensor platform – a modern active safety system that consists of an array of radars, camera, and ultrasonic sensors. This enables the S60’s active safety systems, such as the detection of other drivers and pedestrians, automatic braking, and collision avoidance. The Volvo Pilot Assistance function allows S60 drivers to gently support their vehicle from a standstill all the way up to highway speeds.
In addition, the S60 Recharge seats five, while its 455-horsepower plug-in hybrid engine delivers an EPA-estimated 74 MPGe.
Money.com’s “Features” represent a vehicle’s array of enhancements, primarily within its cabin. While modern vehicles share many of these in common, some go above and beyond. The Volvo XC60 was chosen for its full suite of design, safety, and technology features. The XC60 comes with an amazing, complete infotainment system with built-in Google apps and services.
