At Volvo Cars Walnut Creek, we’ve been singing the praises of the highly anticipated Volvo EX90 since we first learned about it. Now, we’re not the only ones. Fast Company has named the Volvo EX 90 as a finalist in their 2023 Innovation by Design Awards.

The Fast Company Innovation by Design awards honor designers and businesses who not only offer solutions for today’s most pressing problems: they seek to improve the human experience.

The Volvo EX90 seems a natural an obvious choice for this award. It was designed to achieve three goals: create a vehicle that’s truly eco-friendly both in its manufacturing and on the road; move the auto industry forward into a new era of safety; and offer a luxurious, comfortable driving experience for seven.

The EX90 SUV is the new flagship of the Volvo line and leads the way into the future of green vehicles that include Volvo not only all-electric vehicles like the EX90, but mild hybrid (MHEV), and plug in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles. The EX90 features Volvo’s latest innovations in electric battery and motor technology to provide a longer range (an estimated 300 miles), faster charging times (10-80 percent in about 30 minutes), more horsepower (approx. 400hp), and zero tailpipe emissions.

With the entire line of new Volvo vehicles, sustainability begins at creation. Volvo’s goal is to make manufacturing and materials greener. The interior of the EX90 is made up of from natural, recycled, and renewable sources without sacrificing the luxury people have come to expect from Volvo cars and SUVs.

Speaking of expectations, when customers choose a Volvo, they expect the utmost in safety and the EX90 doesn’t disappoint. It has raised the bar on safety. The difference is technology with an emphasis on avoidance. With one long-range lidar sensor, five radars, eight cameras, and 16 ultrasonic sensors standard, the Volvo EX90 gives drivers more time to react and avoid dangerous situations. It understands both the driver and surroundings, reacts to distracted or tired drivers, and learns your behaviors to protect you and your family.

With the EX90, Volvo wanted to achieve sustainability and safety without compromising on luxury. That requires innovation and smart engineering. Volvo is no stranger to either. The EX90 is a true 7-seater with room for family and friends in a uniquely modern, incredibly comfortable, and luxurious environment. You can customize the interior of your EX90 with seven different “rooms” for different expressions and moods.

While the EX90 leads the way, it will soon be followed by the EX30 which will offer similar innovations in a smaller version with an equally diminutive price tag. And as Volvo phases out all internal combustion vehicles, the line of mild and plug-in Hybrid vehicles will continue to offer drivers the choice of range, charge, and driving experience.

Even though the EX90 is the vehicle being recognized as a Fast Company 2023 Innovation by Design Awards finalist, it will accept on behalf of all the forward-thinking Volvo models.

The EX90 is available for pre-order now. At Volvo Cars Walnut Creek, we’re happy to go over all your options in a relaxed, no pressure atmosphere. We invite our neighbors from Antioch to Walnut Creek and all places in between and beyond to visit us today.
